Swift 3 has thin sidebars, and the top and bottom bars are not that modern. Overall, the laptop has an 86% screen-to-body ratio, which is good for mid-range laptops but falls well short of premium laptops, which are 90% or better.
The Swift 3 is thin (0.63 inches) and light (2.76 pounds), on par with the Vivobook S 14X (0.70 inches and 3.53 pounds) and Inspiron 14 2-in-1 (0.70 inches and 3.61 pounds) is comparable.
Because of the 16:9 aspect ratio, the Swift 3 is wider than laptops with 16:10 displays, but not as deep. This is a very portable laptop that won’t take up too much space or weight in your backpack.
Ports
Connectivity is solid with two USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 4 support, two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports, a full-size HDMI 2.0 port, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. An SD card reader is missing, which is disappointing, but the inclusion of Thunderbolt 4 at this price point is welcome.

Performance
The Core i7-1260P performed well in the laptops we tested, offering a significant boost over 11th Gen Intel processors. However, some laptops stand out as performing better than the chip average. I have listed two of them in the table below, and one of them is Swift 3.
Like the MSI Prestige 14, the Swift 3 performed exceptionally well in our test suite. It outperformed the Lenovo ThinkPad x1 Yoga Gen 7 with a Core i7-1260P processor that performed closer to average.
It was also as fast or even faster than some thin-and-light laptops with 45W 14-core, 20-thread Intel Core i7-12700H processors, notably the HP Pavilion Plus 14 and Asus Vivobook S 14X. I tested Swift 3 in Balanced and Performance modes and reported both results. The thermal management utility in the Swift 3 wasn’t as important as in some other laptops.
The Swift 3 was essentially the same as the Prestige 14 in Geekbench 5, our Handbrake test, which encodes 420 MB video in H.265, and Cinebench R23, and both topped the list, with 45-watt chips at the strongest in Cinebench.
The Prestige 14 was faster on PCMark 10 Complete, a strong benchmark, with the Swift 3 finishing third behind MSI and the Asus ZenBook S 13 OLED with AMD Ryzen 7 6800U.

What this laptop for Minecraft offers is NOT more frame rates (well, it does give out more frame rates, but that’s not why you should buy it).
This suggests enabling the RTX (ray tracing) feature in Minecraft. This option will appear if your laptop or PC has an RTX GPU, 1650GTX, or any of the other non-RTX GPU graphics previously covered. The 3050Ti as well as the 3060, 3070RTX, and 3080RTX are RTX GPUs. I won’t list other RTX GPUs because they are too powerful for this game.
This feature makes the interaction between light and objects (that is, shadows) a much more realistic level, as shown in the image below:
Most websites usually recommend a 3060RTX to enable this cool feature, but you don’t really need a 3060RTX or any other RTX GPU, the 3050Ti is ALL you need here. These guys probably don’t know that the 3050Ti is still an RTX GPU.
Anyway, the point is, if you want to enable this feature and play on ray tracing cards, you don’t need to spend more than $800.
3050Ti: RTX Minecraft GPU performance
Ignore the framerate (it’s not high because the graphics card is pumped up), and notice how smooth the color transitions look and how the light interacts with objects, creating more realistic shadows and forcing the scenario to change dramatically, for example, Neon District 21:35.
An alternative to this model is the Lenovo Ideapad 3 with 3050Ti. I have this model, which should be slightly faster than the Acer Nitro 5 (because of the better multicore performance of AMD Ryzen 5).
Shaders
The shader with the most hardware requirements I can think of is the SEUS PTGI HIGH HRR, it’s a lot heavier than the Chocapic and the only laptop it will run smoothly on (assuming you have up to 16 GB of RAM – for mine, there is a guide here).
Mods
The most extreme mod pack is the Patrix resource pack, and it will probably crash most of the laptops on this list this one, although it will work fine will likely drop frames and slow down from time to time.
If you have this mode in your arsenal and want it to run smoothly, you don’t need to upgrade your GPU performance, just find a laptop with a more powerful processor.
What about 3060RTX? 3070RTX? Are they really useless?
IMO, they are useless if you just want to play the game with shaders and mods in 1080p. However, if you want to play the game at 1440p and even 4k. I would say the 3060RTX is perfect for 1440p gaming, while the 3070RTX/3080RTX is ideal for 4K gaming. Since most people don’t play Minecraft at that resolution, I thought it was a waste of time.

That is of course, as long as they have a good CPU. If you have a Celeron, Pentium, or AMD AX (A9, A7), it won’t even handle the vanilla version of Minecraft Java Edition.
What’s the maximum RAM Minecraft will use?
It’s true that more RAM helps with most games, and this is especially true with running Minecraft, as the game uses a software paging system that scales “horizontally”. This means that with more RAM memory (or video memory) you can do better ‘paging’ or ‘refreshing’ (which means more chunks/objects are loaded into the game BEFORE you interact with them).
When people complain about lag in Minecraft, it’s usually because they have the wrong graphics settings (too many chunks) for the amount of random access memory (RAM) they have. More chunks (rendering) require more RAM.
The maximum I’ve found useful is around 12 GB (allocated to the JVM – MC Launcher), after that RAM didn’t help framerates when 32 chunks were set for the rendering distance. Since 12 GB is not a practical number, I would say 16 GB.
